I’m linking all COVID-19 tools and resources that I’ve found helpful in understanding what’s going on, or that might offer information, insights or assistance in dealing with the pandemic. I’ll be adding to the list regularly. Please send anything you think should be on here: firstname.lastname@example.org
Identification of the populations at risk for severe outcomes once infected to inform resource planning, interventions, outreach and other community initiatives
Rates of confirmed cases, recovered cases and death across geographies. Updated daily.
Created by a team of data scientists, engineers, and designers in partnership with epidemiologists, public health officials, and political leaders to help understand how the COVID-19 pandemic will affect their region.
This tool is built to enable political leaders to quickly make decisions in their Coronavirus response informed by best available data and modeling.
We built this tool to answer critically important questions such as:
- What will the impact be in my region be and when can I expect it?
- How long until my hospital system is under severe pressure?
- What is my menu of interventions, and how will they address the spread of Coronavirus?
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic poses unprecedented challenges for our nation and the world. Mitigating the pandemic’s worst effects requires bold, responsive action from health systems, industry, citizens, and policy makers. For those efforts to succeed, we need rapid, nimble communication and coordination of resources across America’s large healthcare sector. We need insightful sources of data, with the most powerful analytics to enhance near real-time situational awareness and learning.
The COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition is a private-industry led response to that urgent need. It brings together healthcare organizations, technology firms, nonprofits, academia, and startups. And it coordinates their collective expertise, capabilities, data and insights to flatten the pandemic’s curve in order to preserve the healthcare delivery system.
With communication and coordination between coalition members, we can save lives through real-time learning to preserve healthcare delivery and protect populations. With top experts and industry leaders sharing plans and resources – and working collaboratively – we can deploy resources more effectively and offer better situational awareness to those at the front lines.
THE COALITION WILL USE DATA AND EVIDENCE TO INFORM DECISIONS ON:
- Healthy populations—by understanding the effectiveness of community mitigation efforts through various social distancing efforts and taking actions at the community level to slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the burden on healthcare delivery
- People at risk of COVID-19 exposure who need diagnostic testing
- Healthcare delivery systems (virtual and physical) with a focus on staff, space and stuff (supply chain)
TIPS is a great resource for science-backed info on infection control. They’re curating useful resources here.
The STAL Shield is an engineered control that prevents the spread of infections like COVID-19 at the hospital. Always a good idea, but with personal protective equipment (PPE) in short supply, it can be used to extend the life of the PPE you do have. If you’re dealing with a PPE shortage at your hospital then you should consider how this might help. Here’s a short interview I did with them.
Check your risk for COVID-19. Based on best clinical practices, CDC guidelines, illness severity and risk factors like age and pre-existing conditions.
